Scriptwriting course starts 13 September

scriptwritingThe next course at Bute Park Education Centre will be on scriptwriting.  It will run for six weeks, from 13 September to 18 October, and cost £95 (£85 for those who’ve done a previous course).   Classes will take place from 1.30 to 3pm.

The course is open to all regardless of experience and as ever I shall adapt it to the interests of those taking part.   However, I expect us to look at writing for  TV, radio and live performance, as well as the new areas opened up by the internet.

I wrote my first play for television in 1986 and have since written numerous tv plays, animation scripts, radio scripts and playscripts for use in schools.  In 1996 my play “Life” was shortlisted for the Writers Guild Best Childrens TV Script and in 2001 I won a BBC Talent award for radio situation comedy.  I’ve previously taught scriptwriting for the Universities of Newport and Glamorgan, and Script Cymru.  But nowhere in my opinion rivals Bute Park as a venue for creative writing workshops!

Places as always are limited so that everyone can get sufficient feedback on their writing.  To book, go here.  If you have any enquiries, email me or ring 07599 203480.
